In the heart of the Atlas Mountains and the medinas of Marrakech work the Maâlmat, the master artisans who guard an ancient knowledge: embroidery, weaving, natural dyeing. For centuries this knowledge has passed from mother to daughter, often far from the spotlight. Marrakelle exists to give these women a stage — and a fair income.
The women’s cooperatives
We work with small, women-led cooperatives where each piece is made slowly and with absolute attention. This is not mass production: it is precision craft, where a single jacket can take days of work at the loom and the needle.
Why it matters
